Biography
The
artwork of Ann Nunziata is inspired by the natural world
around her. She is a self-taught artist who comes naturally
to art after a career at Apple Computer. “I love color”,
she says, “and it really is true that you look at things
differently with an artists perspective.” Ann currently
enjoys keeping travel journals and painting landscapes,
flowers and animals in watercolor and pastel.
Ann has earned several awards for
her paintings and cut flowers in the Napa Town Fair.
She periodically exhibits at Napa Valley College and
participates in local events such as the Napa Valley
Museum "Take a Chance on
Miniatures" and the Pacific Flyway at Mare Island.
Ann is currently exhibiting in the First Street Gallery
in association with the Napa Valley Art Association.
Ann studied botanical art with Catherine Watters, ASBA
in the certificate program at the Filoli estate in Woodside,
CA. She also credits local instructors in Napa Valley
College Community Education. This last summer, she and
her husband sailed their sailboat out the St. Lawrence
River from Toronto to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
Ann received her BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering
from Stanford University. She also has studied ornamental
horticulture and landscape architecture. She is an avid
gardener and collects heirloom daffodils, roses, dahlias,
and lavender. Ann lives with her husband on their farm
in Napa. A regular on many tennis teams, she is also a
member of the Napa Solano Audubon Society.
